Catherine Hartung is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo where she majored in Fine Arts with a specialty in Jewelry and Metals. Upon graduation she was the recipient of the college’s Art Award.
After graduation she worked extensively in the field of graphics. She has done illustrations for everything from a hematology textbook to large-scale wall murals. Her first love, though, has always been Fine Arts. For the past few years she has been able to focus exclusively on her painting working primarily in watercolor and acrylics.
She grew up on a small organic farm in Duanesburg, NY. where she was surrounded by nature. Her upbringing on the farm included growing flowers, vegetables and trees. It left a lasting impression and much of her subject matter is still reflective of that time. She now lives outside of Plattsburgh in the foothills of the Adirondacks where she also finds great inspiration.
Catherine has had her work accepted in numerous juried shows in New York. She is currently part of a co-operative gallery NorthWind Fine Arts located in Saranac Lake, NY.
