Catherine Hartung is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo where she majored in Fine Arts with a specialty in Jewelry and Metals. Upon graduation she was the recipient of the college’s Art Award.
After graduation she worked extensively in the field of graphics. She has done illustrations for everything from a hematology textbook to large-scale wall murals.
Her first love, though, has always been Fine Arts. Catherine has pursued this through classes at Clinton Community College and art workshops in New York and Vermont. She works primarily in watercolor and acrylics. She lives outside of Plattsburgh in the foothills of the Adirondacks. The unique beauty the Adirondacks inspires much of her artwork.
Her paintings have been featured in the Cliffhanger, a student literary magazine published by CCC. Catherine has also had her work displayed in various juried art shows including the Cooperstown Regional Art Show “Essential Art” and Cooperstown National Juried Exhibition. She has won awards in the Blossoms and Blooms Exhibition in Plattsburgh and received honorable mention at Lake Placid Center for the Arts and the NCCA juried art shows.
