"It was a Good Day"
Susan Whiteman has been a member of NorthWind Fine Arts since 2014, and loves being a part of such a dynamic gallery. “We all strive to make the gallery exciting and filled with new works from month to month. Stop by and see what’s new!”
Susan has painted since she was a teen, working in many different mediums. She paints primarily in pastel now, loving the pure pigments, and the tactile and direct nature of the medium.
Her subjects range from landscapes, to florals, to portraits of both animals and people. She notes that, "Painting is a wonderful way to connect with your subject. The elements in my paintings are alive to me, and I hope that my work can convey that vitality to others.”
Susan is a member of the esteemed Pastel Society of America, New York, New York, the Adirondack Pastel Society and Saranac Lake Artworks. Her work has won awards; she has been juried into plein air events and a variety of art shows. Her work is shown throughout New York State.
